THE FUTURE OF STONX

It's what we didn't want to see, but what ultimately happened nonetheless. After having the crowdfund on Indiegogo run for 2 months, we were far away from reaching the goal, and as such all pledges will be refunded in the coming days.
This will be structured to kind of answer some questions that we think you might have, so scroll to whatever title interests you the most.
When will I get refunded?
The money should be refunded back to whatever credit card / debit card you originally paid the pledge with within 7 business days according to Indiegogo, this is an automatic process we don't have control over. Although in our experience any transfer of money internationally tends to take a while, so be patient. For further questions on this matter, you will have to contact Indiegogo's support as they're the holders and handlers of the money.
Will FAP Engine be Open-Sourced?
With almost 3 years of labor spent on the FAP engine and related hardware for no compensation, as cool as it would be to open-source everything, we really need to receive some kind of compensation for all the work we've put in, and as such we think a good compromise would be to sell the FAP Engine and Hardware to another company so that the product could get in the hands of consumers even if we weren't able to bring it to market ourselves. This would achieve both money for the company to stay afloat and do more cool VR-related projects, as well as still have the product reach the market.
What's the Future of StonX AB?
Currently, we're looking into selling the tech we have developed for the FBT, so there's still a chance of seeing our tracking on the market, it just wouldn't be sold or manufactured by us. We're also looking into going B2B (business to business), which means we would mostly do business with other businesses. This is generally a simpler way to give StonX more liquidity as it would not require massive production lines and such. We hope to use the capital we build from B2B to ultimately get back into the consumer VR space, even though it's a lot more challenging, it is what we ultimately have a passion for doing.
When will you get back into the consumer VR Space?
As of now, it's very hard to know, but we want to get back into it as soon as we have the liquidity to do such a thing. Something that differs between the consumer and the business space greatly is the expected quantity of production. The consumer space requires way lower prices and higher quantity, so not only do you need a proper semi to fully automated manufacturing line, but you also need to reach production quantities and corner-cutting at which the price is reasonable for a consumer. In the business space, you don't need massive quantities and hence the price is allowed to be higher, but at the same time, it's expected to be higher quality. Both markets have pros and cons, but it's easier to get into the business space with lower startup capital due to the low quantities and manufacturing by hand being reasonable, but requiring more on the support and development end, which we so far have proven to perform very well at.
Will I still be able to get the socks?
Yes, we still plan for our merch to be available for purchase as it's still very reasonable to manufacture even at lower quantities. More news on that once we've built up some stock, we'll announce it when it's available here, on the discord, and on Twitter.
What will happen to the discord?
The discord with our community will continue to run as usual, although we suspect less activity and less news being shared. But if you enjoy hanging out there, there's no need to worry.
